Is there anything better than sinking between the sheets of a freshly made bed after a long day? Well, yes, snugging down under washed-soft linen sheets has to be up there with the best of life’s simple pleasures. And linen is one of those rare things only gets better with age. A bit like red wine. Or George Clooney. So The Linen Works is fairly high up on my list of Simply Stylish Shops. It sells a capsule collection of beautifully made products that tick all the boxes on my Style Made Simple wishlist. Natural material, soft colours, classic styles, eco-friendly ethos.
The Linen Works has been going for 10 years and a quick read of their website revealed that the company was inspired by a visit to a rustic farmhouse overlooking the Bay of Toulon. The house was well loved, lived in and told a story with pieces to treasure. Its pared-down style and simple yet useful items were what inspired the company. Love this story!
Scrunchy-soft linens in soft muted tones are the key to the look of The Linen Works so they pre-wash everything they sell so each new piece already has that soft, lived-in feel.
On their website, The Linen Works list 8 reasons to love linen. They are preaching to the converted with me, but in case you still need persuading some of the benefits are that it is 100% natural material, it’s an eco friendly choice (find out more here) it needs no ironing (hurrah!) it’s naturally hypoallergenic and it can help to regulate temperature (so is comfortable to sleep in)
