Last week I was asked by The Times if I thought bright colours would be making a comeback in 2015. It was an intriguing question; not least because our love affair with all things Scandinavian seems to be continuing apace and we all know that a crisp white wall is the cornerstone of this popular look.
However, there is no doubt that as a nation we do seem to be getting braver with colour. The Big Houzz Report of last year saw a big upswing in the use of blue, grey and – surprisingly – green on the walls of the nations’ homes. Over the past few years UK homeowners have taken to the grey end of the colour chart enthusiastically and I predict that this year we will see that popular shade morph into soft greens and misty blues.
What do you think? Will you be picking up the paintbrush this year? Do let me know what you think in the comments below. You can read my full quote in the Times feature here.
