Some people say life’s too short to sew your own bunting. And i’d be tempted to agree. But this craft make is a great shortcut to making your own without the hassle of sewing fiddly individual flags. I made this for a Housetohome craft video and it really did take 5 minutes. Honest. All you need are some colourful scraps of fabric, a roll of bias tape (ribbon will also work) and a sewing machine.
Cut your flags out using pinking shears to avoid any fraying, pin them onto the bias tape at regular intervals and machine-sew straight along the tape. That’s all there is to it. Obviously it won’t be double sided, but if you’re planning to hang it along a wall that won’t matter a bit. These are a just a few quick snaps from the video set; you can view the full step by step video on YouTube.
