Thanks to a water pipe disaster over Christmas (my shower had been leaking for some time but I didn’t realise until I discovered water dripping through the walls into the hall and kitchen) I’m in the unexpected position of having to start a bathroom makeover. Although it’s not ideal – I did mini-makeover on my bathroom only last year – I’m seeing it as a positive. I’ve wanted to replace the shower for years and have been dreaming about having a bath there instead. So I’m seizing this opportunity!
As you might have been able to tell by looking at my social media channels I’ve been doing LOTS of bathroom research recently. Apologies if I’ve been flooding your feeds with pictures of baths, sinks, taps and tiles… (flooding your feeds! That was an unintended pun, honest).
My existing bathroom has a fitted run of units that house the sink and toilet and lots of storage, but I’m going to have to take these out in order to fit a bath in so I have been looking at freestanding sink options to replace this with.
I’ve decided to go for a vintage style table unit, almost like a hallway console table or a dressing table, with a ceramic bowl sink on top. It’s simple, timeless and a little bit country. All things I love. I’m still at the research stage with this, so here are some beautiful examples I found on my travels around the web.
I’d love to know your thoughts!
