I have a real thing for home offices. Mine is never as tidy / creative / colourful as I want it to be so I can spend hours browsing image sites and saving inspirational images of how I want it to look. And this is one home office that’s going straight on my wish list board. Just look at that fireplace, and all the baskets of craft supplies, oh and that CHAIR!
But then it does belong to Lynne Robinson, super-stylish owner of the cult stationery store Papermash, so I wouldn’t expect anything less lovely…
Lynne kindly shared these photos of her home (taken by Polly Eltes) on Houzz for an ‘At Home With…‘ Houzz Tour; you can read the full interview with Lynne here (and at the end of this post). But here are a few of my favourite photos of her home.
From this beautiful office to her zen bedroom and calm, grey living room (love all those books!) I think you’re going to like this house tour. Thanks Lynne for sharing!
I went to live in New York on a sabbatical, and spent a lot of hot summer days hanging out with my laptop in cool (air-conditioned) coffee shops in the West Village. I started discovering lots of amazing American design blogs, but didn’t see anything similar in the UK, so I started my first blog then. – Lynne.
My favourite quote is by Annie Dillard: “How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.”
I like quite clean surfaces (I think a coffee table attracts unnecessary mess), but I love busy walls and all styles of artwork. I have piles and piles of unframed art, from Etsy, craft fairs and car-boot sales. Some day I’d like to get those on the wall! – Lynne.
