Amara recently announced their blog awards shortlist and I was thrilled to find myself on the shortlist for the Craft and DIY category (hurrah!). Thank you all so much for casting your votes. The longlist was packed with beautiful blogs, so to have made it through to the final 5 is a lovely feeling.
There are the other 4 blogs also on the Craft & DIY shortlist and they are… drumroll please… Swoonworthy, Dainty Dress Diaries, Melanie Lissack Interiors, Tales From a Happy House. Well done all! Each blog is really unique and they are all packed with fab craft and DIY ideas so I think you’ll really like them.
I’ve picked out my favourite post from each blog as a taster for you, below (felt garlands and gold plant holders anyone?! yes please…) But do take a closer look at each blog and pop them on your bookmark list.
1 DIY Hanging Planter by Swoonworthy
Kimberly of Swoonworthy has an instantly recognisable style – both her home and blog are eclectic, colourful and seriously glam. As such her craft and DIYs are always really gorgeous and this hanging planter is the perfect example of her style. Its clean, contemporary and beautifully sparkly. Take a look at the step-by-step here and make sure to bookmark her blog for the makeovers, DIYs and gorgeous photography.
2 Paint Your Kitchen Cabinets by Dainty Dress Diaries
Having already attempted this myself, I know just what a big task this is so full marks to Catherine for doing such a beautiful job of making over her kitchen with chalk paint. She’s shared a step-by-step guide here so do take a look. And while you’re there why not check out her other upcycling projects and make sure to follow her beautiful shabby-chic inspired instagram page.
3 Make Your Own Garden Furniture by Melanie Lissack Interiors
This is a seriously impressive DIY project – Melanie actually made her own garden furniture! I know, I know, it’s incredibly impressive and if you’re feeling brave you can do the same by reading her tutorial. There are lots of other crafts to discover on her blog too, including wedding crafts, garden makes and a fun marble-effect drinks trolley.
4 Felt Ball Garland by Tales From a Happy House
I’ve always wanted to make a colourful felt garland so I’ve bookmarked this lovely tutorial to come back to later. Tales from a Happy House is a lovely lifestyle blog by Gillian that will make you want to up sticks and move to the countryside. Gillian’s photos of her home and life are beautiful and her pared back crafts reflect her relaxed, country style. Pop this craft make on your list.
